Aftermarket Parts vs. Factory Parts
Here at Maverick Auto Body located in Greensboro, NC, several of our customers in the past have inquired about our use of aftermarket parts vs. factory parts. Contrary to popular belief, the car you bought was not made entirely by the car company you bought it from. It was essentially just put together by the car company from parts made by hundreds of other companies. All car makers use independent companies to design and manufacture most parts used in their cars. The only time to use a Genuine part is if it’s still under warranty and you don’t have to pay for it. Would you pay $25 out-of-pocket for wiper blades just because your car logo is on the box or pay $12 for an aftermarket set that actually perform better? The same theory goes for just about any part on your car. With this in mind each auto repair we do brings unique opportunities to use parts that are straight from the factory or parts that are made by other vendors.
When it comes to auto body repair and collision repair we always strive to restore your vehicle to factory standards if not better. Being in the auto repair industry for over 28 years has helped us to be knowledgeable about aftermarket parts vs. factory parts. We are a full service body shop that deals with restorations, frame work glass repair and much more. Depending on the age of your vehicle, we may order parts straight from the factory. If your vehicle is newer this is usually the case. But if you have an older vehicle, we may have to purchase parts from a junkyard or order the part online for your vehicle. In some cases if we purchase aftermarket parts we can save you your deductible if it’s an insurance claim.
We only use the highest quality of after market parts for your vehicle. We do this so that we may confidently stand behind our warranty.
